GUWAHATI: A team of Barpeta Police seized currency worth several lakhs of rupees from Garmuri Bazar in Barpeta District on Friday, September 6.
According to reports, police arrested two, identified as Rakibul Hussian and Junab Ali. They also seized fake Indian currency of Rs. 2000 and Rs. 500 denominations from the possession of the accused.

The apprehended were attempting to exchange the counterfeit notes with genuine notes.
A case has been registered with Barpeta police and investigation is underway.
