Assam Exits National Football Championship After Defeat To Mizoram

 

GUWAHATI: Assam's journey in the Swami Vivekananda U20 National Football Championship 2024 came to an abrupt end as they suffered a 1-5 defeat to Mizoram in the quarterfinals. The match, held at Chhattisgarh, saw Mizoram dominating from start to finish, securing their place in the semifinals with a comprehensive victory.

Mizoram's attacking prowess was evident throughout the game, with their forwards consistently breaching Assam's defense. Assam managed to find the back of the net only once, thanks to a well-placed cross from forward Abinash Boro, which was expertly converted by Uttam Limboo.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Prabal Pratim Deka, the Assam U-20 men's football team played at the upcoming Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men's National Football Championship 2024. The championship started on May 11, in Narainpur, Chhattishgarh.
