A virtual conference was chaired by Patowary with all Deputy Commissioners, General Managers of DICCs, District Transport Officers, Principals of ITIs, Assistant Directors of Employment and Craftsmen Training on 15th December regarding issues pertaining to Industries & Commerce, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship and Transport departments.

He stated that as the government has been working hard to improve the ecosystem, by enhancing economic growth, facilitating entrepreneurship, and improving the sources of livelihood, the service delivery should also improve.

The Deputy Commissioners were also asked to provide incentives to the local entrepreneurs of the micro food processing units.

The Assam transport minister guided the District Transport Officers to enhance revenue collection in order to meet with the loss following COVID-19 related lockdown, and the DC to strengthen enforcement drives and impose fines on the vehicles found violating laws.

They were also asked to identify vulnerable and black spots and engage volunteers called ‘Path Suraksha Mitra’. After completion of training, these volunteers will be playing a crucial role in the ‘golden hour’ of any accident.

In order to bring job seekers as well as job providers of the skill and industry sector together under one platform, Commissioner and Secretary, Dr KK Dwivedi urged the DCs to organize job fairs.

The vacant seats of ITIs are also asked to be filled soon.
