Assam: COVID-19 Recovery Rate Reaches 84.89% Across State

GUWAHATI: Assam conducted over 1 lakh tests for the second consecutive day, which saw the COVID-19 recovery rate rise to 84.89%.


The positivity rate has also gone down to 1.17%. The Assam Government has tested more than 2 lakh cases in the last 2 days with 1,07,900 and 1,26,279 tests on the first and second day respectively. 


Assam recorded 1482 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, October 13. The cases were detected from all across the state, out of 1,26,279 COVID tests conducted. This was informed by the Health Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma.


Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sarma wrote, Alert ~ Gives me confidence to share that our positivity rate continues to be very low at 1.17%. However, still we should not lower our guards. Today 1482 #COVID detected out of 126279 tests performed today ~ that's 1 lakh + tests, second day in a row."


With this, the total number of COVID cases in Assam has gone up to 1,96,786.

 
Further, with 1,020 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 28,897 while 1,67,056 persons have been cured of the virus. 


The COVID-19 death toll in Assam stands at 830.
