GUWAHATI: Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog unveiled a decision in the Budget for 2024-25 on February 12 stating 10% reservation of posts in Assam Police specifically for eligible Agniveers.
However, it's crucial to note that this reservation applies exclusively to local candidates.
This decision has been undertaken to acknowledge the unique roles and responsibilities undertaken by Agniveers in the state. By allocating a specific percentage of positions within Assam Police, the government aims to create avenues for Agniveers to actively contribute to the law enforcement sector.
