GUWAHATI: The Finance Minister of Assam, Ajanta Neog, while presenting the State Budget today said that every village shall celebrate Village foundation day to ignite the spirit of every village and to create a sense of belongingness.
“This occasion will give an opportunity to share a common vision and plan for the village as per local developmental needs. To celebrate such foundation day, every village will be given a token amount of ₹5000,” stated Neog.
The Finance Minister also said that through paddy procurement, Government has been able to enhance the income of the farmers of the state.
In line with this initiative, the Assam Government has proposed a Policy for Atma Nirbhar Krishi wherein procurement of millets and mustard from State farmers at remunerative price through the Agriculture Marketing Board and Assam Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd, funded by CMSGUY.
Procurement of handloom textiles under Swanirbhar Nari will continue. We want to enhance procurement from villages for Government supplies.
