GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has approved the operation of low-cost air services between non-UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) routes. While presenting the Assam Budget 2023-24, the Assam Finance Minister, Ajanta Neog said that this step is being taken to connect all vital routes in the state through accessible and affordable air connectivity.
In the first phase, such flights are going to be operated between Dibrugarh-Guwahati and Guwahati-Silchar routes on a pilot basis.
Budgetary provisions are being made to provide Viability Gap Funding (VGF) for the operation of such flight services.
