GUWAHATI: Assam police seized heroin worth approximately ₹3.2 crore and arrested an individual involved in smuggling the drugs from a neighbouring state. The operation occurred on Saturday night, January 4, in Silchar’s Kathal Road, following a tip-off based on credible intelligencellicit drugs,

During the operation, law enforcement officials intercepted a motorcycle and conducted a thorough search, resulting in the recovery of 635 grams of heroin. The rider of the motorcycle was promptly apprehended in connection with the illicit drugs.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the seizure on Sunday, commending the police for their swift action in curbing the drug trade.
Authorities have initiated further investigations into the matter.
