GUWAHATI: Assam Police successfully intercepted a vehicle transporting illegal substances during an anti-narcotics operation near Damcherra, Cachar on Friday, January 3. The authorities conducted a thorough search of the vehicle, which led to the recovery of 11,100 bottles of Codeine-based cough syrup.

The seized consignment, valued at an estimated ₹2 crore, emphasising the ongoing efforts of the police to combat drug trafficking in the region.
This operation follows another major seizure earlier this month. On December 8, police at the Churaibari check post of Sribhumi intercepted a vehicle carrying 44,100 bottles of codeine phosphate cough syrup branded as ESKUF.
Further investigation is underway to trace the origin and intended destination of the consignment.
