GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed Jorhat Flyover on Wednesday. This infrastructure marvel promises to stand apart from its counterparts across the state.
Distinguished by its unique and novel feature, the flyover distinguishes itself as the harbinger of a groundbreaking concept. Nestled beneath its soaring structure, a cutting-edge badminton court has been meticulously fashioned, transforming otherwise vacant space into a haven for sports enthusiasts.
This pioneering endeavour marks a significant stride, as it's the very first instance where such a creative amalgamation of flyover and recreational space has been executed. The implementation of a badminton court not only optimises the utilisation of the void but also aims to beckon players to indulge in their passion within this unconventional setting.
Initiated back in 2019, the foundation stone for this ambitious project was laid by the former Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal. Today, after meticulous planning and execution, the flyover connecting Jorhat with Na Ali will finally be inaugurated. At an expenditure of ₹87 crore, the construction has culminated, presenting a visually captivating and functionally vital addition to the cityscape.
