GUWAHATI: 40 individuals fell ill following the consumption of 'Prasad' during a religious gathering in Pathsala, Assam on Tuesday.
According to sources, the affected individuals had participated in a religious function on Monday, where they were served a meal that included chickpeas and sprouts. However, after returning to their respective homes, they began to exhibit symptoms of severe diarrhea and vomiting.

The affected individuals were taken to a nearby hospital, where they received immediate medical attention.
Talking to G Plus an official from Pathsala Police Station said, “The incident was reported yesterday and we are investigating it but the cause is uncertain as of yet.”
