Assam: 3000 Youths To Participate In Mising Olympics

 

GUWAHATI: The Takam Mising Porin Kébang (TMPK) has organised the Mising Olympics, an event aimed at promoting sports and providing a platform for emerging talents which is set to begin on October 25. This event has garnered exceptional participation, with over 25,000 youths competing at the district level. From which 3,000 young athletes have qualified to showcase their skills across 12 athletic events in Jonai. 

The inauguration of the event was attended by Assam Education and Tribal Affairs Minister Ranoj Pegu, who inaugurated the proceedings alongside Bimal Borah, Assam Minister of Industries and Commerce and Public Enterprises, and Cultural Affairs, Pradan Baruah, Member of Parliament from Lakhimpur, Jonai MLA Bhubon Pegu, and athlete Hima Das.

Ranoj Pegu, expressing his delight, emphasised the importance of such initiatives in popularising sports and nurturing budding talents. He further extended an appeal to all student organisations, urging them to actively engage in similar constructive endeavours.
