GUWAHATI: The APSC cash-for-job scam is turning into a multi-scam saga. There have been reports that some persons have been trying to influence the judges through bribery and other unfair means to obtain bails for the arrested APSC officials. According to sources, a special court judge has agreed to file an affidavit in a bribery case.

The Gauhati High Court might start an independent inquiry on the bribery matter and special judge Prasanta Kumar Saikia is ready to file an affidavit on the same, revealed sources.

The police recently arrested lawyer and BJP worker, Sailen Sarma Barua and real estate builder, Surajit Choudhury on charges of trying to manage the investigation. It is alleged that Sailen Sarma offered a bribe to the judge on behalf of Surajit Choudhury, who happens to be the husband of (now under arrest) Pallavi Sharma Choudhury, former Circle Revenue Officer, Mangaldoi.

In a new development, Pallavi Sharma Choudhury on 25th July, Wednesday, was suddenly presented before the special magistrate in connection with APSC cash-for-jobs scam.
