Protest In Lalganesh Area After Miscreants Deface Ram Poster

GUWAHATI: A tense situation unfolded in the Shankar Nagar near the Lalganesh area, today, April 28, as people gathered in protest following the defacement of a poster depicting Ram. Miscreants had coloured the figure black, sparking outrage in the area, and devotees quick to show their anger by protesting.

While speaking to GPlus, Aryan Baruah, a member of the Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, expressed deep dismay over the incident, stating, "It is very disheartening to see our Lord Ram covered in black paint. We will make sure that appropriate actions are initiated. Painting Ram black means painting us black."

The act of defacing was committed during the late hours of Saturday, as captured by CCTV footage. Despite police presence from Fatasil Ambari and Odalbakra stations, the individuals responsible for the act remain unidentified.

Efforts to obtain comments from the Fatasil Ambari police station were unsuccessful, as they were reportedly unavailable for any statement. Further details on this case are awaited.
