Equipped with the latest medical equipment, patient monitoring applications, and telemetry devices, the 5G ambulance transmits the patient’s health data in real time to the hospital's monitoring console. Onboard cameras, connected to an ultra-fast and low-latency 5G network, stream high-definition live video and patient data with minimal delay, allowing the ambulance team to receive immediate guidance from medical experts at the hospital's emergency department.

This innovative setup not only improves the speed and accuracy of diagnosis and treatment but also has the potential to save lives, reduce complications, and enhance the overall quality of emergency medical care during patient transport. The integrated connected care technology solution is provided by HealthNet Global Limited, an affiliate of Apollo Hospitals.

Key features of the 5G-connected ambulance include:

Always connected to the hospital: The high-speed, low-latency 5G network relays the geo-location of the ambulance to the hospital’s command center, ensuring the nearest ambulance reaches critical patients quickly to save precious ‘Golden Hour’ time. The ambulance also transmits the patient's telemetry data, including vitals, in near real-time to doctors and experts at the hospital. This enables doctors at the emergency room to make faster decisions and advise paramedics on required aid while on the move, preparing hospital staff to better manage the patient upon arrival.

Virtual transportation of ER specialist Doctors: With near real-time camera feeds, doctors and paramedics in the ambulance can collaborate with ER specialists at the hospital. Equipped with advanced technologies, these specialists can guide paramedics to perform basic procedures, if necessary, virtually ensuring that patients receive the best possible care even before reaching the hospital.

This modern technology is dedicated to the people of Assam on World Emergency Medicine Day, May 27, by Apollo Hospitals Guwahati.
