Amritsar School Teacher Makes National Flag With 71,000 Toothpicks

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of Republic Day, a school teacher has made a national flag using 71,000 toothpicks.

Baljinder Singh, who teaches in a government school in Amritsar told news agency ANI, "I have made the national flag using 71,000 toothpicks to mark the 71st Republic day. It took me 40 days to complete it.

Meanwhile, in Guwahati the preparations for Republic Day are almost over, said Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner, Biswajit Pegu on Tuesday.

While addressing a press conference at the DC office on January 21, Pegu said that this year the Assam Rifles will be leading the parade. Other forces taking part in the march-past are CRPF, BSF, Assam police etc. NCC scouts and guide will also be participating.

“We will be making special arrangements for physically challenged people. There will be people to assist them to their respective places,” said Pegu.
