GUWAHATI: In the midst of coronavirus outbreak when India has one of the lowest testing rates in the world, a Pune-based private lab has developed a relatively cheaper test for coronavirus.
It is the first private lab to do so, as per reports. It is to be mentioned that the central government has now also allowed private laboratories to conduct testing for COVID-19.
The Mylabs testing kits have been developed within a span of six weeks and will significantly reduce the cost test.
As per reports, till March 21, India had only tested 14,811 people for the virus.
It is to be mentioned that Assam currently has four testing centres for COVID-19, these include Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) Lahowal, Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH), and Silchar Medical College.
