GUWAHATI: On the occasion of its 6th anniversary in India, Amazon has released a video, which prominently featured Mekhela Chador, the indigenous traditional dress of Assam.
In the video titled 'We Thank You, India', Amazon thanks the weavers of Assam for making the Mekhela Chador available across the country through its platform.

"Today the pride of Assam, our famous Mekhela Chador, is being worn and appreciated by you, giving it a place in wardrobes all over India. Thank you," says Amazon seller Ashwin Sethi in the video.
The e-commerce site has given a platform to the traditional handloom products of Assam, making them popular across India. Apart from Mekhela Chador, Amazon also sells the Assamese Gamosa, and bell metal products.
