All Recent COVID-19 Cases in Assam were Already in Quarantine Centres: HBS

GUWAHATI: Assam State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Dr Ranjeet Kumar Dass, in a press conference today May 18, said that all recent cases in Assam were from the various quarantine centres in Assam and expressed that there is no reason to panic as community spread has not taken place yet.

"I believe if our quarantine system works properly, we will not have to worry about community spread," said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

So far, around 40,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Assam.

The total tally in Assam stands at 104 with 58 active cases and 3 deaths.
