GUWAHATI: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) is set to introduce Bihu as an elective subject for the higher secondary course curriculum from 2020.
The announcement came a day after several educationists came together in a workshop to discuss ways to preserve Bihu in the city.

Students choosing Bihu as their elective subject will have to appear for a 100-mark question paper, with both theory and practical segments.
Though the Council is yet to decide on the mark segregation between theory and practical, the practical aspect would get its due importance, said AHSEC Secretary Kamal Jyoti Gogoi to The Assam Tribune.
