In yet another unfortunate accident that took place on Friday night, a speeeding four wheeler hit a police constable at Jalukbari.
The deceased, identified as Tapeshwar Ali, was a constable working in the Transport Department.
Ali was immediately rushed to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after the accident where he was declared dead.
Allegedly, the car was being driven by few youths who were drunk and hit the constable and the gate of Gauhati University, after losing control.
The alleged youths are currently absconding, and are yet to be identified.
Police have seized the vehicle from the accident spot, for further investigation.
