The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) on Monday held a statewide protest against the Centre's decision to grant citizenship to illegal migrants, through the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016.
Samujjal Bhattacharya during the protest, said, "We will not allow any illegal immigrants to come from any other place and reside in Assam. Assam is not a dustbin for the people of northeast."
AASU's regional units at district and subdivision level along with other conscious citizens staged protest demonstrations in different parts of the state.
