GUWAHATI: Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Guwhati has added a high powered grass cutting machine for its operational area on Tuesday, September 3.
The machine has been procured by Central Headquarters, AAI New Delhi at a cost of Rs. 67 lakh each and was imported from Netherlands (Holland).

This is the first-of-its kind grass cutting machine deployed at Guwahati Aiport and it will not only cut, collect and dump grass in bulk, but also remove insects. This will ultimately help in reducing instances of bird-hit cases in glide and approach path of aircrafts.
Guwahati Airport is currently connected to 20 domestic destinations and will now get international connectivity to Bangkok, Thailand from September 22.
