8th Nov - Govt to observe Anti Black Money Day; Opposition parties to observe it as Black Day

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal during a press conference held on Monday announced that the Government will observe 8th Oct as an Anti Black Money Day, to mark the one year anniversary of demonetization.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and an unwavering stance against corruption have transformed the economic environment of the nation, including Assam. The minister also iterated that the BJP Govt has successfully carried out the demonetization campaign against corruption, and is committed to continue on the same path with the support of the people.

On the other hand, members of the major opposition parties across the nation are gearing up to observe the day as 'Black Day'. The opposition slammed the decision taken by the Centre last year as an unwise move which has plunged the Indian economy into a deep crisis.

“All those lies have now been exposed. The government claimed that all problems arising out of demonetisation will be over within 2-3 months and the economy will bounce back. Instead, the country is now witnessing a massive economic crisis,” said APCC Vice President Pradyut Bordoloi
