With the city gripped by festivities, the City Traffic Police has pulled out all stops to ensure safe and ‘incident’ free New Year celebrations.
In a drive against drunken driving for past 12 days, Guwahati Traffic Police has detected 703 cases of drunken driving and has seized driving licenses of these offenders.
The GTP in a statement to the press said, ‘We request each citizen of Guwahati to not drink and drive this New Year. We request everyone to celebrate safely, drive sober and to keep themselves and other drivers on the road safe.’
