GUWAHATI: One bomb suspected to be an IED exploded at Khoyathong road near Shani Mandir Imphal on November 5.
According to reports, five police personnel and one civilian was injured in the blast.
The injured persons are as follows:-
1. Lamabam Amarjit of Langthabal(Addl.SP Ops. IW)
2. Thongam Devan of Lalambung (SI of CDO Iw Bazar Unit)
3. Ningthoujam Ibotomba Singh of Thoubal Okram (ASI of City PS)
4. Khuraijam Boney of Singjamei Chingamathak (ASI of CDO IW)
5. Huirongbam Boboy of Thoubal Ningombam (Rfm.of 7th IRB attached with CDO IW and escort of Addl. SP Ops. IW)
6. Krishna Gurung of Pangei Nepali Basti(civilian).
The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital and the incident site has been cordoned.
It is to be mentioned on November 2 a similar IED was triggered at Telipati in Imphal East dirtrict wherein 3 BSF Jawans were injured.
As per an annual Union Home Ministry report, Manipur accounted for 50 percent of the total incident of violence across the North East in 2018.
