GUWAHATI: Five suspected Rohingya Muslims, including one woman, have been arrested by Government Railway Police (GRP) on May 14 at Guwahati Railway Station.
The arrested individuals, aged 19-21 years, were apprehended from Platform 1 when they were unable to provide authentic identity certificates.
It has been reported that the arrested persons are originally from Myanmar and they were trying to board a train to Delhi.

The arrested Rohingyas have been identified as Makakmyayum Sahenas, MD Zubar, Md Kamal Hussain, Nurul Hakim and Md Kalimula.
Based on reports, GRP had first apprehended two boys and a girl, and following interrogation, two other boys were arrested. It has also been found that they were arrested by Manipur Police in 2018 and have been trying to obtain a Refugee Status from United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), New Delhi.
Myanmar-made preserved fruit packets, sweets, white coffee and other items were recovered from their possession.
