GUWAHATI: A mild earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck North Garo Hills, Meghalaya, on Thursday, February 20 at 11:32 AM (IST), according to official reports from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The tremor, recorded at latitude 25.87°N and longitude 90.70°E, had a shallow depth of 5 km, making it more perceptible on the surface. Minor tremors have been observed in neighbouring states such as Assam and others.
There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties. However, residents in the affected areas experienced mild shaking.
Authorities are monitoring the situation, and further assessments are underway.
