GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has revealed that 197 building construction permits are currently pending in the city. To address the issue, the GMC will hold a special camp from February 1 to March 31.

Announcing the initiative during a press briefing on Monday, January 27, GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania assured timely resolution. “We are committed to addressing the issues faced by builders and property owners. By March 1, 197 construction permits will be granted to ensure smoother and faster processing,” said the mayor.
He said there had been procedural delays due to various factors in clearing the permits.
Builders and property owners have been urged to participate in the camp to resolve their pending applications.
