144 CrPC imposed in city

To avoid any sort of disturbance in the functioning of the offices, movement of public and flow of traffic at Dighalipukhuri area, and in front of the office of the Dy. Commissioner, District Administration has imposed 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in multiple areas of the city which will prohibit assembly of more than five persons, procession and shouting slogans in the areas, under Panbazar & Latasil Police Station: The areas are - M.G Road near D.C Office, Panbazar, G.N.B Road near Dighalipukhuri upto T.C Point, Taibullah Road near Dighalipukhuri, Ananda Ram Baruah Road near Meghdoot Bhawan, Kanak Lal Baruah Road near Handique College, F.C Road near Gauhati High Court, M.G Road leading to Raj Bhawan, by the side of river Brahmaputra, and all roads around Raj Bhawan.
