GUWAHATI: The troops from the Eastern Command of the Indian Army showcased courage and teamwork by saving a young girl from drowning in the Brahmaputra River on October 21.

The incident which occurred on Monday was reported by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Defence, Guwahati via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The troops, who were stationed nearby, acted upon noticing the young girl struggling in the strong currents of the Brahmaputra and they successfully rescued her from the dangerous waters. The video put out by PRO, Defence Guwahati shows the troops bringing her to the shore safely after the rescue.
The identity of the young girl has not been disclosed and further details are awaited.
