GUWAHATI: Continuing its war against trans-border crimes and narcotics trafficking, the Border Security Force (BSF) seized 600 addictive Yaba tablets, worth ₹ 3 lahks in the South Salmara district of Assam on Friday.
As per media reports, the Yaba tablets were seized from the Assam-Bangladesh international border.
One drug smuggler was also arrested along with the seizure.
BSF officials from the Guwahati Frontier deployed 45 battalions to conduct a special operation at the Border Out Post (BOP) in the Sahapara area of the district after they received a tip from a reliable source.
BSF officials revealed that the consignment of the Yaba tablets was meant to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Later, the drug trafficker and the confiscated items were turned over to the Assam Police for further legal action.
Till the filing of this report, the smuggler was being interrogated, and the police were investigating the case.
