Assam Students Can Now Use Ration Cards To Get Free Admission In College

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has introduced a new policy allowing students to access free college admission by simply presenting their ration card, without the need for additional documentation such as a village head certificate.

This move aims to simplify the admission process for students and make higher education more accessible, especially for those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The chief minister made the statement during an interaction with the Press after the unveiling of the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Panchayat elections in Assam. The manifesto was unveiled at an event in the party headquarters in Guwahati, where Sarma was joined by Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia.

Assam’s Panchayat elections are scheduled in two phases, on May 2 and May 7, with counting of votes to be held on May 11.
