GUWAHATI: Amid nationwide grief over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday, April 26, said the BJP is fully prepared and confident of securing a decisive win in the upcoming panchayat elections.

Sarma said the BJP’s extensive work in rural development since 2016 has built a strong support base across Assam’s villages. “Over 100 BJP candidates have already won unopposed,” he announced.
The chief minister predicted that the panchayat election results would be even better than the party’s performance in the 2021 Assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Sarma also took direct aim at the opposition, claiming that the Congress would be completely sidelined. “This panchayat election will isolate the Congress and prepare the ground for future BTC and Assembly victories,” he added.
