GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the world’s first Vedic clock, named as ’Vikramaditya Vedic Clock’, at Ujjain yesterday on February 29.
The Prime Minister unveiled the clock via video conferencing, while addressing the Viksit Bharat Viksit Madhya Pradesh programme where he laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth about ₹17,000 crore.

"The city of Baba Mahakal was once the centre of time calculation for the world, but its importance was forgotten. To overcome this neglect, the government has reestablished the world's first Vikramaditya Vedic Clock in Ujjain and it will be witness to 'kaal chakra', when India is on the path to becoming a developed nation," he said while inaugurating the clock.

“Vikramaditya Vedic Clock in Ujjain will become witness to the ‘kaal chakra’ when India is on the path to becoming a developed nation,” he said further, while stating that the nine day Vikramotsav programme will celebrate the glorious heritage and the development of India.
The Prime Minister will begin his two-day visit to the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar today on March 1.
