GUWAHATI: A woman, Sujata Das, originally from Udalguri, succumbed to severe injuries allegedly inflicted by her husband on Sunday, June 2. The incident occurred in the Jyotikuchi area of Guwahati, where Sujata lived with her husband, Manas Jyoti Das.
Family members of the victim have reported that Sujata had been subjected to prolonged harassment and physical abuse by her husband. She was taken to hospital a few days prior. Sujata's condition escalated to the point where she was declared dead at a hospital in Tezpur.

Her family has filed a complaint against Manas Jyoti Das, accusing him of domestic violence leading to her demise.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from the Fatasil Ambari police station said, "The husband is in custody and we have forwarded the case."
