We Have Decided to Give Rs 1,000 to the Daily Wage Labourers: Yogi Adityanath

GUWAHATI: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on 21st March  announced that Rs. 1000 would be provided to the daily wage and construction labourers per dayin order to meet their daily needs. 

This monetary help would be extended to more than 35 lakh people in the state that includes 20,37,000 daily wage lanourers, rickshaw pullers, and others as well as 15 lakh others who run small businesses.

The scheme is extended to support the need of the people who are dependent on daily income,  in light of the coronavirus spread in UP. 
23 people in UP have been tested positive till date, of which 9 have recovered so far.

Adityanath said, “In the wake of the current situation, we have decided to give Rs 1,000 to the daily wage labourers, rickshaw pullers, etc. who are registered with the labour department. About 15 lakh people who are dependent on daily income for their livelihood will also be given the same monetary relief. The exercise will be carried with the help of labour department.
