GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board (GMDW&SB) has issued a public notice regarding an interruption in water supply scheduled for October 31.
This temporary suspension of water services will affect the residents of DMA6G4, including areas such as Bhaskar Nagar, Hatigarh Chariali, and Sarbodoy Nagar, among others.
The interruption is due to essential repair works carried out at Hatigarh Chariali.
The repair work, which began the previous night, could not be completed in a single session, necessitating this planned disruption.
Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to make necessary arrangements for their water needs on October 31.
This is not the first time these areas are facing a water crunch.
Water supply has been disrupted in Bhaskar Nagar, Hatigarh Chariali, and Sarbodoy Nagar for the most part in the last week.
Taking to X, Guwahati Jal Board stated, “We would like to inform our esteemed consumers that water supply will be interrupted on 31.10.23 in DMA6G4 having areas namely BhaskarNagar, HatigarhChariali, SarbodoyNagar etc. due to incompletion of the repairing works taken up yesternight at HatigarhChariali. Regards GMDW&SB”
