GUWAHATI: On September 3, Guwahati Police uncovered several ongoing cyber frauds in Assam, following a significant bust of cybercriminals operating in Guwahati.

Here are some common scams that you need to watch out for:
1. APDCL Scam
Scammers pretend to be officials from the electricity board and threaten to cut off your power if you don't make immediate payments through suspicious links.
2. Online Arrest Scam
Fraudsters pose as police officers, claiming that your family is involved in serious crimes. They demand payments to avoid arrest.
3. Customs and CBI Fraud
Scammers pretend to be customs or CBI officials, telling fake stories about detained parcels or illegal transactions, and ask for money to resolve the issue.
4. Loan App Fraud
Be cautious of fake loan apps that appear legitimate. These apps steal sensitive data and later extort money from you.
5. Work From Home Scams
Fraudsters offer fake job opportunities, asking for personal details and registration fees before extorting money from unsuspecting victims.
