GUWAHATI: Over 100 popular food stalls along Guwahati’s Dighalipukhuri, affectionately known as Khao Galli, are set to shut down over the coming days.

To facilitate the construction of the Dighalipukhuri-Noonmati flyover, this decision has been imposed by the city’s authorities, and it has left both visitors and stall owners reeling from the situation.
Since the construction project will stretch into early 2026, most of the stall owners will be deprived from their primary source of livelihood.
“It’s going to be very difficult to sustain our families without any income from here,” shared one stall owner, expressing deep concerns about the sudden change in scenario.
