Uttarakhand Biker ‘Noni’ Thanks Guwahati Police For Recovering Stolen Motorcycle

 

GUWAHATI: Uttarakhand-based biker Noni on Tuesday, March 11, expressed her gratitude to Guwahati Police for recovering a stolen motorcycle belonging to her riders' group. The two-wheeler was earlier taken from a guest house in the Sarusajai locality of Guwahati just hours after their arrival on March 5.

In a video posted online, Noni, popularly known as Rider Noni, thanked Basistha Police for their swift action. She specifically mentioned an officer named Kalyan and highlighted the importance of the recovered motorcycle, stating that her co-rider, who owns the bike, also films and edits her videos, making it crucial for her content creation and journey.

“I want to thank the team from Basistha Police Station for quickly tracking down our stolen motorcycle, especially Kalyan sir,” Noni said in the video. Showing the recovered bike, she added, “Some people might think this is my bike, but it belongs to my co-rider, who travels with me and shoots my videos. His bike is also my responsibility.”

Guwahati police arrested the third person responsible for stealing the motorcycle, identified as Ashraf Ali, from Goalpara. His father was also taken into custody for being complicit in the crime. Earlier, two other individuals, Assraful Dewan and Firoz Kazi, were also arrested, as the stolen motorcycle was recovered from Fakirganj in Assam’s Dhubri district.

The case gained attention after Noni sought help on social media, tagging Assam Police and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Following her appeal, Basistha Police registered a case and launched an investigation, successfully recovering the stolen vehicle and apprehending the suspects involved in the bike-lifting operation.
