GUWAHATI: The Jain Festival of Uttam Kshama which means 'Forgiveness' was observed at Bhagwan Mahavir Dharmasthal, Fancy Bazar on October 1.
Devotees came to seek blessings from Acharya Shree Pramukh Sagarji Maharaj.
A felicitation function was held for the 228 devotees who had been fasting for 32 days, 16 days & 10 days respectively.
The event was graced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation, Ashok Singhal.
While addressing the audience, Sarma said, "I am grateful to be here in the presence of Acharya ji. At this auspicious event I would like to share that if you live life in a disciplined and pure way, you'll find God in yourself. I'm also pleased to inform you that the 'Uttam Kshama Parv' will be made official in Guwahati."
