Emergency Team Controls Shop Fire In Guwahati's Kahilipara

 

GUWAHATI: A fire broke out on Monday morning, May 5, at a shop located near the 1st Gate of the 4th Assam Police Battalion (APBN) in Kahilipara, prompting an immediate response from the Dispur Fire and Emergency Services Station (F&ESS).

The fire call was received at 8:55 am from Ain Hazarika, following which the first fire tender was dispatched by 8:57 am. A second vehicle followed shortly at 9:10 am. The fire personnel reached the scene, approximately 5 km from the station, and successfully doused the flames using two water tenders.

The shop, owned by Kumkum Gogoi, suffered damage estimated at around ₹2 lakh, while property worth ₹28 lakh was salvaged due to timely intervention. The 30x20 ft shop had caught fire in an isolated incident, the cause of which is yet to be officially determined.

The first team returned to the station by 10:00 am, with the second following at 10:20 am.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
