UPSC Exam Results Announced: Assam's Aranyak Saikia Secures 59th Rank

GUWAHATI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has finally declared the results of the 2019 Civil Services Exam. 

Assam's Aranyak Saikia, son of former Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia, secured 59th rank in the UPSC 2019 exams. 

Notably, Aranyak, a 2017 batch IPS officer is already serving in Karnataka. Another Assamese, Tapan Deka secured the 766th rank.

The written part of the Civil Services exam 2019 was held by the UPSC in September 2019 and interviews for the Personality Test were conducted from February to August, this year.

After the declaration of the results, the appointment to the services will be made according to the number of vacancies available with due consideration to the provisions contained in the Rules for the Examination.

UPSC prelims 2020 have been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the ongoing crisis, the IAS prelims 2020, which was scheduled for March 31 earlier, are to be conducted on October 4 next.
