During the visit, Mohan led an in-depth review of the implementation of various peace and boundary agreements, including the Karbi Accord, ULFA Accord, and DNLA Accord. These accords, aimed at fostering peace and stability, have seen substantial progress, with 15 clauses of the Karbi Accord, 6 clauses of the ULFA Accord, and 6 clauses of the DNLA Accord already implemented. Former militants who have surrendered are now being rehabilitated and empowered to integrate back into society through livelihood initiatives.

To resolve boundary disputes with neighbouring states, both Assam and Meghalaya agreed to complete a survey of six contentious areas on their shared border within the next six months. Additionally, efforts to settle disputes along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border were also prioritised. Regional committees are set to finalise the boundaries of 49 villages by April 2025.

Assam Police provided updates on their recent successes in countering insurgency, curbing drug trafficking, child marriage, radicalisation, rhino poaching, and corruption. These achievements have contributed significantly to the state’s stability and development.

The discussions also highlighted ongoing flood and wetland management projects, with a particular focus on NESAC-identified wetlands earmarked for flood diversion. Upcoming projects valued at ₹500 crore were reviewed, underscoring a commitment to better flood resilience and ecological balance.

Additionally, meetings were held with leaders from Assam’s autonomous councils, including representatives from the BTC, Tiwa, Mising, and Rabha Hasong Councils, to discuss continued Central support for local development and regional aspirations.
