GUWAHATI: The Union Cabinet has approved the leasing of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati through public-private partnership (PPP).

Principal Spokesperson to the Government of India & Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau, KS Dhatwalia wrote on his twitter handle, "#Cabinet approves proposal for leasing out three airports - #Jaipur, #Guwahati and #Thiruvananthapuram - of Airports Authority of India through Public Private Partnership."
The Adani Enterprises Ltd had won the bids to operate the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport Guwahati, for a period of 50 years back in January.

The Adani group had also won the bids to operate five more airports - Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, and Thiruvananthapuram.
