GUWAHATI: A railing from an under-construction flyover in Baihata fell on an individual killing him in the wee hours of February 28.

According to official information, the railing has been assumed to have fallen due to vibrations generated during the construction of the flyover under Nirmal Builders, wherein it slipped and fell to hit the person.

The individual has been identified as ‘Koila Apa’, a resident of a nearby area who succumbed to the incident as he was passing through the area.
Talking to GPlus, the Superintendent Of Police, Kamrup said, “The exact area of the incident is Piyali Kata and the incident happened today morning as the individual was passing by. Further investigations are being undertaken.”
Talking to the media, a local said, "The deceased was a peanut seller who fell prey to this devastating incident today. There is no safety, no rules, and no concern for the safety of the people in the construction work here."
