The duo named Monalisa Nath, a first-year Higher Secondary student, and Babita Barman, a mother of a three-year-old child were found and detained in Bihar’s Buxar by the police in the late hours of March 6.
Initially believed to be a case of human trafficking, the duo had allegedly been lured away under false promises of love. They were planning to end up in Mumbai, before which the police intercepted them.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Pragjyotishpur police station said, “We found the duo and detained them yesterday. It is not a case of human trafficking as many believe. They had been lured away on the pretense of love, even though one of them is married. We are going to Bihar today on March 7 to retrieve them, and bring them back home.”
Further details are awaited.
