Two Men From Uttar Pradesh Arrested In Guwahati With Fake Gold And Cash

GUWAHATI: Assam Police's Special Task Force (STF) apprehended two men from Uttar Pradesh in Guwahati on Sunday, August 12 for possession of a fake gold item and cash.

The suspects were caught during a targeted raid based on specific intelligence inputs.

The raid was conducted at Accounts Colony Road near the Nilachal flyover in Maligaon, under the jurisdiction of Jalukbari Police Station. During the operation, the police officials seized a fake gold boat-shaped item weighing 1.365 gram, along with ₹4,700 in cash and a hacksaw blade.

The two men were identified as Ahamad, 28, a resident of Shora village under Jaitpura Police Station in Banaras district, and Rahis Ahamad, 40, from Bhishodhi village under Mugalsarai Police Station in Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh. Both suspects are now facing legal proceedings.
