GUWAHATI: Assam's Special Task Force (STF) seized 42 soap boxes of heroin weighing 588 grams hidden beneath a truck's tarpaulin on Thursday, September 19.
The truck, en route from Camphai in Mizoram to Barpeta, was intercepted at Amingaon after being trailed from Shillong Bypass.
Mofiz Uddin and Lal Chan Badsha, both from Howly, were apprehended during the operation, which was based on intelligence received earlier in the day.
Legal proceedings against the accused have been initiated.
